Kiwifruit is a small, oval-shaped fruit with a fuzzy brown exterior and a vibrant green, sometimes golden, interior speckled with tiny black edible seeds. Known for its tart yet sweet flavor profile, it adds a tropical zest to any dish.

While the fruit is picked in the late fall, it stores exceptionally well under refrigeration, which is why it remains available fresh throughout the winter and into the spring.

To check for ripeness, gently press the fruit with your thumb; a ripe kiwi should yield slightly to pressure, similar to a peach.  Kiwi is perfect for slicing and adding to breakfast bowls, mixing into smoothies, or topping desserts.
