About

Mandarins are universally adored for their small size, low seed count (often seedless), and intense, easy-to-love sweetness. They are the quintessential winter snack.

Thanks to the cultivation of early, mid, and late-season varieties, the Central California mandarin season is extensive, running from Mid-November – Early May.

Ripe mandarins should have a bright, deep orange color and feel firm and heavy in your hand. The skin should be somewhat loose and puffy, which makes them so easy to peel. Mandarins are best enjoyed fresh as a snack, added to lunchboxes, or used as bright, sweet segments in savory dishes like stir-fries and roasted chicken.
